Hi, I’m Kiera, the reluctant vegan

I’m Kiera, an ex-professional traveller, hedonist, and reluctant vegan. I went vegan for health reasons, but I didn’t want to give up the indulgent food I’d grown to love, and I was shocked at how delicious plant-based food could be. Taste First Vegan Later (TFVL) was born out of my passion for food and my need to prove people wrong when they say, “you can’t make that vegan.” My mission is simple: to create vegan recipes that taste even better than the original, but are easy enough to achieve in your own kitchen.

Taste First Vegan Later’s Mission

TFVL brings globally inspired vegan recipes that prove plant-based food can be bold, comforting, and indulgent. From street food noodles to decadent chocolate desserts, every dish is crafted to taste just like or better than the original. With a ‘Taste First, Realise Later’ approach, these recipes surprise food lovers, flexitarians, and curious cooks by showing that the world’s favourite foods can be 100% vegan without compromise.
